Contact Chella GonsalvesPurpose The Central Valley –Modesto – is where the group calls home. According to painter Rhett Owings, "Our goal is to paint the beauty of our own valley and the surrounding foothills. We have painted in historical spots such as Jamestown, Murphys, Knights Ferry, Hornitos, and Locke. We have also painted in our beautiful local parks and along our many rivers. We often go out in smaller groups, as well, to paint the farmlands in our valley."Membership Around 55 and growing. Mostly regional. Painters should be experienced and known by at least one member. Dues are $5 per year. Founded Sept. 11, 2000, by Al Perry, Rhett Owings and Chella Gonsalves.Activities Weekly paintouts at designated spots.Shows Their first show was held at Richard's Custom Framing and Art Gallery in June, 2001. A second show featuring three group members was held at City Hall Gallery in Turlock. Second group show January, 2002, at the Central California Art League Gallery in Modesto.Publication or Newsletter None. |
