Contact Cyndra BradfordPurpose Formed to carry on the painterly legacy of the early Monterey Peninsula Art Colony. They acquired their name after their first group exhibition in 1996. Rather than paint the standard realistic views of the tourist landmarks, they try to capture the true feeling and atmosphere of the area by showing more unusual views and by using fluid expressionistic brushwork with contemporary design and color. The group takes its inspiration from Early California Art Colony painters William Ritschel, Paul Dougherty, Arthur Hill Gilbert and Armin HansenMembership Eight members: Johnny Apodaca, Cyndra Bradford, Mark Farina, Gerald Martin, Barry John Raybould, Jeff Daniel Smith, Howard Bradford, Richmond Woodson.
