Contact Zenaida MottPurpose The BayWood Artists is a group of professional artists dedicated to preserving for future generations the remaining open spaces of Marin County and the Bay Area. It was the first group formed in Northern California whose sole purpose was to enhance and preserve the natural environment. Through exhibits and the sale of paintings, the artists hope to focus public attention on and raise awareness and funds for environmentally sensitive projects as well as those lands that inspire their art and the organizations committed to their preservation.Membership Invitational from Marin or adjacent areas. Twelve members. Founded in 1998.Activities Paintouts, gallery exhibits and fund raisers throughout the year.Shows Numerous exhibits to benefit the Bolinas Lagoon, the Marin Open Space District, Hawthorn Canyon, the Marin Agricultural Land Trust, the Golden Gate National Parks Association’s project to restore the Oakwood Valley near Mill Valley; restoration of the Redwood Creek and many more. They donate 50 percent of their proceeds to those organizations.Publication or Newsletter None |
